If you use GoHighLevel to send text messages to US-based numbers, you must comply with A2P 10DLC (Application-to-Person 10-Digit Long Code). Mobile carriers require businesses to register their phone numbers to prevent spam and verify sender identity.
(Note: A2P 10DLC is specifically a U.S. telecom requirement. Businesses operating in Kenya or elsewhere should verify their local carrier regulations).
In the GoHighLevel Trust Center, the process is split into two parts:
Brand Registration: Proves who you are (Legal business name, EIN, address).
Campaign Registration: Explains what you are sending (Appointment reminders, marketing) and proves that customers opted in.
Rejections happen constantly because of minor data mismatches. Ensure you have the following perfectly aligned:
Tax Records Match: Your submitted legal business name and address must match your official tax documents letter-for-letter.
Clear Opt-In Checkboxes: Your website forms must include a specific checkbox stating the user agrees to receive SMS marketing. Do not pre-check this box.
Privacy Policy: Your website footer must link to a Privacy Policy that explicitly states mobile data is not shared with third parties for marketing purposes.
Sample Messages: Provide realistic sample texts that include opt-out language (e.g., "Reply STOP to unsubscribe").
Do not immediately resubmit the same information. Read the rejection code. If it cites "Opt-in workflow," check your website form to ensure the SMS consent text is clearly visible. Correct the specific error before requesting another review.
Registration is not a substitute for responsible messaging. Keep your opt-out rates low by sending relevant, expected communications.
