In October 2026, GoHighLevel rebuilt its WhatsApp template builder and added two features that change what a single approved template can do. WhatsApp limited-time offer templates put a live countdown inside the customer's chat, and dynamic media lets each contact receive their own image, video or document from the same template. Together they cut the number of templates you need and the time spent waiting on Meta approvals.

A limited-time offer template is a marketing template with a countdown clock drawn by WhatsApp itself. The clock ticks down in the chat and turns red in the final hour. Under it sit a discount code the customer can copy with one tap and a button linking to your offer.
The key advantage: you set the expiry at send time, not when you build the template. One approved template can run promotion after promotion without another approval cycle.
Go to Settings → WhatsApp → Templates → Create template.
Set Category to Marketing and Type to Limited time offer.
Add the offer heading, image header, body (with variables), discount code and URL. Both buttons are required by Meta.
Submit for Meta approval.
When sending, choose the expiry for that campaign.
You can send it from Conversations, bulk actions, workflows and calendar sends, and the AI template writer can draft one for you.
Watch out: if you send with an expiry that has already passed, the message still delivers but shows the offer as expired. Double-check dates before a bulk send.

Previously, every different image or document meant a different template and a fresh approval. Now media header fields accept custom fields and dynamic values. At send time, the value resolves to that contact's own file.
Store a publicly reachable HTTPS link to each contact's file, such as an invoice or ticket, in a custom field.
Map the template's media header to that custom field.
Send from a workflow, bulk action or conversation.
Pair dynamic media with an image personalisation service: design the image once with a name placeholder, then use the personalised image URL as the media value. A single bulk send delivers an image with each contact's name on it.
Requirement: the resolved URL must be publicly downloadable by Meta. Private drive links, login-protected files and empty fields will fail, and failures are reported clearly rather than sending the wrong file.

Workflows and automations, Conversations, bulk actions, calendar appointment messages, reputation review requests and missed call text back all support dynamic media headers.
Send marketing templates only to contacts who opted in to WhatsApp marketing.
Keep promotions relevant; Meta's quality signals affect delivery, especially on MM Lite.
Move marketing traffic to MM Lite before Meta's October 2027 deadline. See WhatsApp MM Lite.
Do I need a new template for every promotion? Not with limited-time offer templates; set the expiry when you send.
Can I send each customer their own invoice on WhatsApp? Yes, using dynamic media mapped to a custom field holding a public link to the invoice.
Can I remove the copy-code or URL button? No. Meta requires both on this template type.
Does dynamic media need Meta approval for every file? No. The template is approved once; only the resolved URL changes per contact.
